A-06 · vs CHATGPT
Use ChatGPT for ideas. Use ArchAI for stamped work.
This is not a takedown. ChatGPT is a fine general assistant. It is just not built to put your license on the line.
§01SIDE BY SIDE
| ChatGPT | ArchAI | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | On OpenAI servers | On your machine |
| Your drawings | Uploaded to the cloud | Never leave the studio |
| Code answers | Plausible, often uncited | Tied to a real IBC / IRC / ADA section |
| When it is unsure | Sounds confident anyway | Drops or flags the claim as unverified |
| Works offline | No | Yes, between license re-checks |
| Built for | Everyone | Licensed architects in small firms |
§02THE HONEST PART
When you should not use ArchAI
If you want to draft a proposal email, sketch a concept, or summarize a long thread, reach for a general model. ArchAI is narrow on purpose. It is for the part of the job where a wrong, uncited answer is a real liability.
